We need to stop the CRTC and stop usage based billing.

The CRTC has recently imposed new laws regarding Internet usage and how larger ISPs are able to charge for them. Internet resellers now have to impose a cap of 25GB and charge $1.70 per extra GB used (60GB and $2.13/GB for Quebec, I'm not sure of other regions). According to the CEO of Netflix it costs ~$0.01 to reroute 1GB to a customer and yet the large ISPs claim they need to lower caps and increase fees to remain profitable. We are being charged 17000 to 21300 times as much as it costs the ISPs.

I would like to request that every Canadian CG member that feels this is against the interest of Canadian Internet users sign this petition, and pass it on to everyone you know who may feel the same way.

And don't forget the point of the CRTC. It was created to protect the customers from the large companies and now it is helping them with a huge money grab.
